Tryon Fall 3: Jumper Update
Mill Spring, NC - October 2, 2025 - Starting off the third week of the Tryon Fall Series presented by Coca-Cola with a bang, Jad Dana (LEB) saw his second FEI win in two days, claiming Thursday’s $32,000 LeMieux Welcome Stake CSI 2*. Partnered with Itchcock Des Dames (Marius Claudius x Calvaro F.C.), Dana bested a field of 59 trips across the Oscar Soberon (USA) track, blazing through the jump off timers in 37.57 seconds. Aboard his own Cristiano Obolensky (Coronet Obolensky x Stakkato), Gonzalo Busca Roca (ESP) piloted the 2015 Hanoverian gelding to a second place finish, just behind the winners with 37.72 seconds on the clock. Aboard Sabrina Lefebvre’s 2017 Belgian Warmblood mare Ribery (Aganix Du Seigneur x Cadix Du Seigneur Z), Luis Fernando Larrazabal (VEN) slotted into third place with a 38.81 second jump off.
Tryon Fall 2: 2025 Tryon Fall Series presented by Coca-Cola
Mill Spring, NC - September 27, 2025 - Saturday’s $30,000 LeMieux Grand Prix concluded with an all-women podium after twelve trips toured the Tryon Stadium course. Adding to the competitive excitement, just four riders qualified for the jump off, and Kristen VanderVeen (Wellington, FL) produced the only Coke Zero double clear of the night with Bull Run’s Kingdom (Dutch Design x TipTop). On top of the podium, Kristen VanderVeen was presented with the Governor's Cup for her success.
2025 Tryon Fall 2: Midweek Update
Mill Spring, NC - September 26, 2025 - It was a clean sweep for local rider, Theresa Tolar (Forest City, NC) during the $5,000 USHJA National Hunter Derby. There were ten trips to complete the Seth Clayton course, and Tolar claimed the top three spots with her three separate mounts. The excitement of Tolar’s tricolor achievement had not set in yet, but she expressed “I'm just proud that all three of those horses gave their all today!”
2025 Tryon Fall CDE Results
Mill Spring, NC - September 21, 2025 - The Tryon Fall CDE (Combined Driving Event) took place at Tryon International this past weekend, featuring the USEF Combined Driving National Championships for Horses. Competition included three-phases - Dressage, Marathon, and Cones which witnessed champion teams to division debuts.

Mill Spring, NC – September 20, 2025 - The first Saturday Night Lights presented by Skyla Credit Union of the 2025 Tryon Fall Series presented by Coca-Cola was full of excitement and beautiful weather. Taking on the Jasen Shelley course was 14 horse and rider combinations. Completing their double clear efforts with the fastest time, Ricardo Alberto Villa (Campobello, SC) and Curioso Van Maarle Z (Canabis Z x Katina VD Holstenhoeve Z) were named champions in the $20,000 Special Olympics North Carolina Grand Prix.

Kent Nelson and Diamond: Continuing Their Master Water Dog Title Journey
The Movers and Shakers Portuguese Water Dog Club of the Carolinas took over the White Oak Cross Country course pond at Tryon International for the 2025 Blue Ridge Splash Water Trials. Kent Nelson (Mill Spring, NC), Water Trial Chairman, and his Portuguese Water Dog (PWD) Diamond took to the water with their 2025 title “Master Water Dog 9”. Diamond was the first female and youngest dog to receive this title.

Mill Spring, NC - August 8, 2025 - Rekindling the competitive spirit at Tryon International, John Brown (Mill Spring, NC) piloted Ballon Bleu to victory in the $5,000 LeMieux Welcome Stake. Juan Ortiz (Loxahatchee, FL) entered the ring on his own 2016 Holsteiner gelding Cool More Hero (Casall Ask x Unknown) and earned second place with 37.684 seconds and four jumping faults in the jump off. The 2018 Selle Francais mare, Ines Shanti, (Unknown x Quinta De L'othain Z) owned by Agathe Heurteux and piloted by Florian Ferry (Wiliston, SC) received third place with a time of 38.116 seconds and four jumping faults.

Tryon Summer 6 Results: Tryon Summer Series presented by The Farm House
Under the Tryon Stadium lights for Saturday Night Lights presented by Skyla Credit Union, concluding the Tryon Summer Series presented by The Farm House, Kristen VanderVeen (USA) claimed yet another victory in the $120,000 Cleghorn Golf & Sports Club Grand Prix CSI 3*. Atop Bull Run’s Jireh (Uriko x Colman), VanderVeen crossed the jump off timers in 38.05 seconds to best a field of 25 competitors. Richie Moloney (IRL), riding Skelwith Diamond Lady (Kalaska De Semilly x Balou Du Rouet), the 2014 Anglo European mare owned by Equinimity, LLC, secured second place with a 38.46 second jump off round. Completing the podium in third place, Michael Walton (USA) and Mia Marano’s 2015 Selle Francais Stallion, Fahrenheit De Vains RW (Cornet Obolensky x Qredo De Paulstra), finished with 42.54 seconds on the clock.

Fifteen trips took to Tryon International’s Derby Field to ride the $5,000 USHJA Open National Hunter Derby course. Kelli Cruciotti Vanderveen (Loxahatchee, FL) piloted the Remington Farm’s entry, Ratino KN ter Beuken (Gino H x Extreme From The Breeder D 09), to score a 176 and take the win. Second place with a total Hunt & Go score of 172 was awarded to Alicia Wilkinson (Charlotte, NC) riding Corvet Chaqueño (G..P. Chicco Blue x Corvet Coqueta), the 2017 Warmblood stallion owned by Crown Sport Horses LLC. Completing the podium on a score of 170 was the Kristen Kulinski 2012 Oldenburg gelding entry, Calistro (Cornet's Prinz x Alexa), ridden by Ellarose Lewis (Ethel, LA).
Tryon Summer 6 Midweek Update: Tryon Summer Series presented by The Farm House
Riding the Ken Krome-designed course with three of his mounts, Fernando Cardenas (COL) took over the top two spots in Thursday’s $32,000 LeMieux Welcome Stake CSI 3*. The 2017 Hanoverian mare, Balou's Honora Car (Balou Du Rouet x Galiani CH), produced the winning jump off round in a time of 40.69 seconds. Fano Car (K Diamant D'heure ABF x Galiani CH) 2015 North American Sport Horse gelding, was the runner up, clearing the course in 41.50 seconds. Rounding out the podium, Emma Irwin (CAN) rode Las Vegas (Arezzo VDL x Otangelo), Rosalie Midyette’s 2016 Dutch Warmblood stallion, to a time of 42.17 seconds.

David Blake (IRL) and Cornwall BH flew through the Tryon Stadium at Saturday Night Lights presented by Skyla Credit Union to take home the win in the $70,000 The Farm House Grand Prix CSI 2*, stopping the clock at 40.21 seconds. Audrey Muscari (USA) navigated the short course in a time of 38.5 to take home second place with Chester du Roset, her own 2015 Swiss Warmblood gelding (Chief V x Tlaloc M), on four faults. Rounding out the podium in a time of 41.89, Nicolette Hirt (USA) rode Dalton van de Lindehoeve Z (Dagano Vdw Z x Walme Z), the Chatwood Farms LLC owned 2015 Zangersheide gelding, to third place.

July 11, 2025 - Championing the $5,000 USHJA Open National Hunter Derby with the highest second-round score of 90 and the second highest first-round score of 88 for a total of 178, Tiffany Cambria (Upperville, VA) rode Not To Worry (Casall x Flora VI). The 2017 Westphalian gelding, Innamorato (Angel x Unknown) owned by Emily Sweeny with rider Lauren Underhill (Long Lake, MN) scored an 88 in the handy, earning them Reserve Honors on a total score of 174. Last week’s derby champions, Ceyda Sezer (Roswell, GA) and her own 2016 Belgian Warmblood gelding New Beginnings (Prince van de Wolfsakker x Doreen van het Lindehof), had the highest first round score of 89, finishing in third place with a score of 171.

Mill Spring, NC - July 10, 2025 - The $32,000 LeMieux Welcome Stake CSI 2* saw 33 trips tour the Andy Christiansen course, with seven pairs qualifying for the jump off. Michael Walton (USA) qualified two of his three mounts for the jump off, and emerged victorious with Mia Marano’s 2016 Dutch Warmblood gelding, Lancelot RW (Carrera VDL x Numero Uno). Ciaran Flynn (IRL) had a successful 42.37 second ride aboard Calvin Harris 3 (Calatos x Gloster), the 2015 Oldenburg gelding owned by Apex Equestrian Center, for reserve. Nicolette Hirt (USA) riding Balia Silvia (Balou Du Rouet x Unknown), a 2015 Oldenburg mare owned by Chatwood Farms LLC, earned third place with 42.90 seconds on the clock.
Tryon Summer 4 Results: Tryon Summer Series presented by The Farm House
The $120,000 Fabbri Boots Grand Prix CSI 3* saw a total of 15 trips tour the course designed by Nicholas Granat. Notching their second Saturday Night Lights presented by Skyla Credit Union win in a row, Kristen VanderVeen (USA) and Bull Run's Jireh cleared the course in 34.48 seconds. Claiming second place with 38.32 seconds on the clock, Brittni Raflowitz (ISR) rode the ESI Show Jumpers Inc 2016 Holsteiner stallion, Commander Bond (Corrado I x For Pleasure). Rounding out the podium with their 40.15 second performance was Richie Moloney (IRL) and Coco Beach (Casall x San Patriagnano Corrado), Equinimity LLC’s 2012 Holsteiner mare.
