Holding onto a spot in the top three, Caroline Pamukcu (USA) and HSH Connor (Connor 48 X Galwaybay Merstona), the 9-year-old Irish Sport Horse gelding, owned by Luann McElduff and Sherrie Martin, added .8 points to their dressage score.

Mia Farley and Fast Forward Stay on Top in CCI3*-S Division
Mia Farley (USA) and Fast Forward (Windfall X First Flight Romance), the 8-year-old Trakehner gelding owned by Patricia Luttgen, had a terrific day in the CCI 3*-S Show Jumping phase to hold their place at the top of the standings. The 11-year-old German Sport Horse gelding FE Quattro (Unknown X Unknown), owned by the FE Quattro Syndicate, and Dana Cooke (CAN) broke the tie to stay in second overall adding no points to their score. Zachary Brandt (USA) and the 8-year-old mare Kassiopea Preziosa, owned by The Kassiopea Partnership, climbed the leaderboard from 12th place to round out the top three by jumping a clear round.

Acknowledging challenges early on in the day, Mia Farley secured success in Show Jumping with zero faults. “When ‘Rascal’ came around, I knew I had to step up my game from the mistakes on the last two horses,” Farley explained, praising Fast Forward. “He tries so hard and I needed to give him the same effort back.”

“I’ve only had him since February, so we are still learning each other,” Farley continued. “We just started to really understand each other at the last two shows. I’m looking forward to tomorrow, but my priorities are to give him confidence for his upcoming long format!”

Lucienne Belissimo and Hermine Maintain Lead in CCI1*-S Division
With the CCI1*-S standings seeing no change, Lucienne Belissimo (GBR) remained at the top of yet another division at the close of Saturday’s competition. Aboard Hermine (Hermes De Lux X India H), Belissimo and the 2017 Holsteiner mare owned by Horse Scout Eventing, LLC incurred 1.2 time penalties in the Show Jumping phase, ending the day with a score of 30.2 points. The leading team remains a full point ahead of Lee Maher (IRL) and HTF Charming Cooley (Timone X Corline Z), Home Track Farm’s 2019 Irish Sport Horse gelding. Maher and HTF Charming Cooley saw a clear Show Jumping phase, moving onto Cross-Country with 31.2 points. Rounding out the top three with The Turning Point (Rocky Lee X Osterblume), Madeleine Richards (USA) and her own 2016 Westphalian gelding recorded .8 Show Jumping time penalties, with 32.8 points on the board.
“I was really happy with the mare’s attitude and effort in the main stadium. She’s naturally a very careful mare and it was plenty for her to take in. The tracks were all up to height today,” Bellissimo noted, recapping the second phase aboard Hermine.
