The NCHJA Annual Show has long been a highlight of the region’s hunter/jumper calendar, bringing together riders, trainers, and horses from across the Southeast for a week of top-level competition and community celebration. Hosting the event at Tryon International will allow the beloved tradition to continue while providing exhibitors with the facility’s expansive arenas, spectator amenities, and vibrant equestrian environment.

“We are absolutely thrilled to partner with the North Carolina Hunter Jumper Association to host its Annual Show at Tryon International. This is a tremendous opportunity to combine the NCHJA's cherished traditions and Southern hospitality with our world-class facilities, ensuring a spectacular and memorable week for every exhibitor and spectator,” said Doug Grondahl, Chief Operating Officer of Tryon International.

Competition highlights will include the NCHJA Medal Finals, where each finals winner receives a $1,000 educational grant. The show has once again been designated a World Champion Hunter Rider (WCHR) Show for 2026, offering valuable qualifying opportunities for competitors in the hunter divisions.

The event will also host the $10,000 USHJA Green Hunter Incentive South Regional Championship, showcasing some of the nation’s most promising young hunter horses. Additional hunter highlights include the $5,000 USHJA National Open Hunter Derby, the $5,000 USHJA National Junior/Amateur Hunter Derby, and the $2,500 USHJA Pony Hunter Derby.

International show jumping competition will also take center stage with the $70,000 Grand Prix CSI2* and the $32,000 Welcome Stake CSI2*, bringing elite riders and horses to Tryon International for an exciting week of sport.

“The NCHJA is proud to offer an exceptional week of course showing at the renowned Tryon International Equestrian Center. This partnership with Tryon provides us with a fantastic opportunity to elevate the horse show experience for our membership and exhibitors while maintaining the character and personal touch of our historic horse show,” said Hunter Bratton, Board Member of the North Carolina Hunter Jumper Association (NCHJA).

While the venue may be new, the spirit of the event will remain the same. The NCHJA’s renowned Southern hospitality will continue with exhibitor-friendly traditions and social events, now presented on an even grander scale at Tryon International.

The NCHJA Annual Show at Tryon International promises five days of exceptional competition and camaraderie, welcoming exhibitors and spectators alike to experience one of the Southeast’s most anticipated hunter/jumper events.
