Courtney Carter and Leyla Caynak for Tryon International
November 15, 2025 - Mill Spring, NC - It was an exciting conclusion to the Duke “Jump for the Children” benefit shows and the inaugural Duke Under the Lights events. Audrey Muscari (Ocala, FL) aboard Chester Du Roset (Chief V x Calixe Du Roset) came out on top in the $50,000 Henri De Rivel Duke “Jump for the Children” Grand Prix, as the only pair to break into 40 seconds during the competitive jump off. As the last entry to compete in the Tryon Stadium, Fernando Cardenas (New Hill, NC) rode his third mount of the night, Fernando Cardenas Sr.’s 2015 Warmblood gelding Fano Car (Dianant D'heure ABF x Ursula Car) into second place on their jump off time of 41.425 seconds. Brooke Kemper (Reddick, FL) was the first rider to set a clear 41.631 second speed round ride, piloting Arpeggi (Arpeggio x Lucy Lancer), the Arpeggi Group’s 2010 Westphalian gelding.

“He has the biggest personality, so he shines in night classes where all eyes are on him!” Muscari stated, regarding her 2015 Swiss Warmblood gelding, Chester Du Roset. “He will jump inside out for me to keep the poles in the cups!”

Watching fellow competitor Brooke Kemper’s jump off prior to their second round ride, Muscari shared, “we knew she [Brooke Kemper] was going to be really, really fast and her horse is similar, so we tried to match that! Chester canters across the ground so fast and he jumps really fast, so it just worked!”

Muscari sung course designer Martin Otto’s praises, saying, “I thought the course was great! The courses have been great all week - they've been really open and allowed the horses to jump with enough technicality to keep the numbers right for the jump offs.”

A frequent rider at Tryon International, but new to the Duke Shows, Muscari concluded with her team’s Tryon experience and thoughts on the Duke Shows new home. “We love Tryon, it’s a great place to come! We always have it on the calendar, and these weeks have been especially fun with the charity aspect. The [Duke “Jump for the Children” Benefit Shows] been a great experience, and I think it should stay here because everyone's had a great time!”

When asked about their strengths as a team, Maggie Sozzi stated, “I think we killed it in the under saddle. I think we all consistently did well on over fences too, but consistently we were all in the 80s under saddle.”

To ensure they all kept a positive mindset throughout the competition, the team started a group chat days before to discuss ways to stay positive and make sure everyone remembered the most important thing is to have a good time. ”We talked about just having fun, making sure we were happy, and just to have a good time.” stated Sofia Parise.

Support and encouragement was clearly a key asset for the Blue team. “I pulled my horse up in the class today because I couldn't see the jump,” Sozzi shared. “It was very nice to have the team be like, 'it's fine as long as you were safe and you had fun.' That's what this is all about.”
